Xavi feels Sad For Messi Regarding Barcelona Exit

Barcelona fans and players have been in a tizzy since the news broke last week that Lionel Messi has left the club. Moreover, after Barcelona couldn't come up with the funds to maintain one of the greatest footballers of all time, the icon joined PSG this week.

Further, Xavi, a former Barcelona player, sympathizes with Messi, who volunteered to take a 50% pay reduction to stay. This Thursday, the midfielder spoke with The New York Times about Messi and Barcelona's failed contract negotiations.

Moreover, “I'm just heartbroken for Leo. It's a shame to see him like this, and the club couldn't come up with a solution.” “I know Leo wanted to stay, but it couldn't be worked out in the end. The only thing I can say right now is that I am going to miss him terribly. Messi in a shirt other than Barça's Xavi said: "It's even harder for me to envisage Messi in a shirt other than Barca.

“It's awful for Leo, especially for how I saw him emotionally at the Camp Nou the other day, but it's sad for Barcelona as well,” Xavi added.

In addition, after signing a two-year contract with PSG, Messi was officially revealed as a PSG player on Wednesday.
